Davies: “£4 million Senedd refit cannot be justified”

South Wales Central Conservative MS Andrew RT Davies has slammed the £4 million cost of upgrading the Senedd chamber, warning it “cannot be justified”.

Senedd members returned to the chamber this week after it was out of action for several months for renovations.

The works were carried out accommodate the 36 new Senedd members, created by Plaid Cymru separatists, Labour and the Liberal Democrats at a cost of £120 million.

Mr Davies said:

This £4 million refit took place to accommodate the 36 new Senedd members created by Plaid Cymru separatists, Labour and the Liberal Democrats.

Wales does not need more politicians and fancy facilities for them to sit in – we need more doctors, nurses and teachers.

Wasteful spending like this is the reason Welsh hospitals are in an unacceptable state.
