DAVIES: “Crumbling hospital buildings must be fixed”

Conservative Senedd member for the Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend Andrew RT Davies has told Plaid Cymru ministers they must intervene to fix crumbling buildings at Cardiff’s Heath Hospital.

An independent assessment into Cardiff and Vale University Health Board stated there was “lack of agreement and communication for plans for the estate” – in reference to the state of the hospital infrastructure.

Responding to the report, Plaid Cymru Health Minister Mabon ap Gwynfor said there will be “ no more money from government to fund improvements”.

Mr Davies condemned Gwynfor’s attitude and repeated his calls for a new hospital to be built.

Mr Davies said:

“This report is the latest to identify serious problems at Cardiff’s Heath Hospital – including in relation to building infrastructure.

“It’s galling to see Plaid Cymru separatists say there’s no money available for improvements.

“The separatists are funding a Commission on Welsh independence – they must scrap this wasteful spending and focus on our NHS.”
