Conservative Senedd member for Bridgend and the Vale of Glamorgan Andrew RT Davies has criticised “inaction” from the new Plaid Cymru administration to resolve industrial action by health visitors at Cwm Taf Health Board.
Mr Davies explained a striking health visitor had told him Plaid Cymru’s response had been “disappointing”.
They pointed to a pre-election letter signed by First Minister Rhun ap Iorwerth, in which he urged “immediate action to bring this dispute to a just and lasting resolution”.
But the health visitor told Mr Davies they are “no closer” to resolving the situation.
Mr Davies criticised the new administration’s “lack of leadership” and said the situation amounted to “another broken promise”.
Mr Davies said:
“Health visitors play an important role in our communities and we need this dispute resolved as soon as possible.
“Just weeks ago, Rhun ap Iorwerth said immediate action was required, yet now he can address it his Plaid Cymru separatist administration has failed to do so.
“This is Plaid Cymru separatists’ latest broken promise.”
