Conservative Senedd member for Bridgend and the Vale of Glamorgan Andrew RT Davies has told the new Plaid Cymru administration it cannot avoid responsibility for a rise in NHS waiting times.
Plaid took power at the start of May.
In the following month 542,000 patients were waiting to be treated – up from 536,000 in April.
Mr Davies pointed to Plaid’s “co-operation agreement” with their Labour predecessors, which he said was a “coalition in all but name”.
He said Plaid’s decision to prop Labour up meant they were culpable for the state of the NHS they inherited.
He called on them to “clear up their own mess”.
Mr Davies said:
“The state of the NHS in Wales is a mess of Plaid Cymru separatists’ own making.
“The separatists propped up Labour, so they’re in no position to blame others for failings in the public services they inherited.
“The number of people stuck on an NHS waiting list is unacceptable – Plaid must get on with clearing up the mess they helped cause.”
