Welsh Conservative Shadow Environment Minister Andrew RT Davies has said the public must not pay the price for water bosses’ failings, following comments from Welsh Water’s Chief Executive.
Roch Cheroux warned customers face a choice between higher bills or waiting longer for improvements.
He blamed ageing infrastructure and years of under investment.
Mr Davies said:
“These comments will be particularly galling for customers given Dwr Cymru’s record of paying eyewatering salaries to executives.
“The public must not pay the price for water bosses’ failings.
“If water companies failed to invest adequately in infrastructure, that’s on them.”
