Speaking ahead of the tenth anniversary of Britain voting to leave the European Union, former Welsh Conservative Senedd leader Andrew RT Davies has said Brexit has improved the accountability of politicians.
Mr Davies was one of few Senedd members to back a leave vote in the referendum.
On 23rd June 2016, Wales, like Britain as a whole, voted to leave the European Union.
Mr Davies said:
“While Britain was a member of the European Union, we commonly heard politicians of all colours blame the EU rather than take responsibility.
“Since Brexit, that excuse no longer exists.
“Accountability has improved because politicians now have nowhere to hide – the public holds them responsible for decisions they take.”
