Commenting Sir Keir Starmer’s resignation as Prime Minister, Conservative Senedd member for the Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend Andrew RT Davies has warned the Government’s failings go beyond mere problems of style.
Mr Davies said continuing the same flawed policies would deliver the same results.
Mr Davies said:
“The Government’s failings are not mere problems of style. A better communicator will not magically make flawed policies work.
“Working people are paying ever increasing taxes to fund an unsustainable welfare bill.
“Immigration is still too high, putting huge pressures on our public services and making our society ever more fractured.
“Crime is out of control, with human rights laws putting the rights of criminals before those of victims.
“If Burnham is to be our next prime minister, I’ve seen nothing in his agenda that suggests he won’t give us more of the same.
“Renewal is needed urgently.”
