Conservative Senedd member for the Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend Andrew RT Davies has warned bringing back free movement of people between Britain and the EU will increase unemployment.

Almost 1 million young people in Britain are currently not in education, employment or training.

Prime minister Andy Burnham has said he is open to the idea of bringing back free movement.

But Mr Davies warned it would place further pressure on the jobs market and called for the idea to be rejected.

Mr Davies said:

“There are almost 1 million young people in Britain not in education, employment or training.

“Bringing back free movement of people between our country and the EU will make this problem much worse.

“The idea must be rejected.”
