Conservative Senedd member for the Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend Andrew RT Davies has called for an end to NHS postcode lotteries in Wales.
Mr Davies was responding to Heather Morgan, whose Welsh residency meant she was not eligible for a genetic test that may have prevented her developing ovarian cancer.
In 2014, patients in England with triple negative breast cancer who were under 50 were immediately put forward for genetic testing.
But in Wales, they were not.
Mrs Morgan said that the test would have prompted her to have both ovaries removed pre-emptively.
She explained that, after developing secondary cancer, her 10-year survival chances are now 35%.
Mr Davies said:
“Plaid Cymru separatists must end this postcode lottery.
“Our health services should be integrated – people should not get different tests depending on where they live.
“We are one nation.”
