Conservative Senedd member for the Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend Andrew RT Davies has slammed Plaid Cymru ministers’ failure to clear an illegal Gypsy encampment at Brocastle.
Mr Davies first raised the issue with ministers in a letter of 3rd August, but illegal occupation of the site continues.
As the land is Welsh Government owned, it is ministers’ responsibility to ensure trespassers are removed.
Mr Davies condemned their failure to respond to his concerns, and said he’d chased the issue with them.
Residents have reported several issues of threatening and anti-social behaviour by the site’s occupants.
Mr Davies said:
“The illegal Gyspy encampment at Brocastle has been in place for several weeks, and Plaid Cymru separatist ministers have showed no urgency to remove it.
“Residents have reported incidents of threatening and anti-social behaviour, something they should not have to put up with.
“Senedd ministers own this land, and their lack of action is completely unacceptable.”
