Conservative Senedd member for the Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend Andrew RT Davies has demanded action from the Vale of Glamorgan Council to address parents’ concerns over performance at Llantwit Major School.
The school has been placed under special measures, after an inspection report found serious improvements are required.
It warned “pupils only make progress in around half of lessons” and “pupils’ behaviour within and outside lessons often disrupts learning”.
Mr Davies said he’d been contacted by parents of children at the school, expressing serious concerns.
Pupils’ learning has also been disrupted by strike action by teaching staff.
Mr Davies said:
“The issues at Llantwit Major School are serious and parents have contacted me to express their concerns.
“The Vale of Glamorgan Council must take immediate action to address them and resolve this dispute.
“Our children’s education continues to suffer while these problems remain and this is both unacceptable and unfair.”
