South Wales Central Conservative MS Andrew RT Davies has again demanded action to improve road safety on the A48 in the Vale.
A three-vehicle collision took place in Bonvilston last week, which saw the road closed in both directions.
It is one of several incidents to have taken place on the road between Culverhouse Cross and Cowbridge in the past few years.
Mr Davies has previously requested a safety review of the road to assess the current layout and consider measures to be implemented to mitigate the risk.
He has contacted the Vale of Glamorgan Council again to request action following the latest incident.
Mr Davies said:
Over the past few years, there have been several crashes and collisions on the A48 in the Vale. Last week’s incident in Bonvilston is only the latest.
I’ve previously asked Senedd ministers and the Vale of Glamorgan Council to take action to improve road safety, but this has been ignored.
My calls for a safety review of the road were not addressed. Following this latest incident, there can be no more excuses. Authorities must act.
