Conservative Senedd member for the Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend Andrew RT Davies has demanded a zero tolerance approach to carrying knives in public after another stabbing in the Vale of Glamorgan.
A 17-year old boy had his leg amputated following the violent incident on Barry Island.
It follows the stabbing of a 12 year old girl on Harbour Road in 2024 and a fatal incident on Barry Road last year.
Mr Davies said:
“It’s deeply worrying to see another stabbing in the Vale of Glamorgan – local people are rightly horrified.
“Carrying a knife in public without good reason is rightly illegal – those who do so must face the full force of the law.
“More resources must be allocated to get knives off our streets – and tougher sentences are required for those convicted of carrying knives.”
